    Workshop Description

    Tweak and improve your mechanical skills in a new context while you have oodles of fun learning a new activity as you baseline, track and analyze your training efficiency and effectiveness! 

    As professional trainers it can be difficult sometimes to really assess how effective we are! We get stuck in ruts and find ourselves repeating the tried and true. Yet when we take ourselves out of the old framework and move into a new context fresh learning begins!

    Get inspired, regroup, reassess and recoup your motivation for training in this fun two-day workshop. Tune-up your skills while having heaps of fun learning a new sport. Participate in behavior analysis exercises where you will learn how to baseline, track and analyze training data.

    We offer a safe non-judgmental and enjoyable learning environment, whatever stage of your career you are at!

    Bring your dog and enjoy active sessions and learning or audit and be an integral part of the behavior analysis, tracking and data interpretation. 

    In this workshop you will learn:

    • How to finesse and fine tune your training mechanics.
    • Bridging efficiency, reinforcement delivery and timing
    • Slicing & dicing behaviors
    • Situational awareness
    • Building positive associations
    • Learn the two key strategic training systems to increase your effectiveness and efficiency as a trainer and an instructor.  
    * Learn how to apply the Train - Test - Train  System of criteria building for pets and their owners

    ecome proficient at the On-Task-Skill Coaching system of effective  people training
    •  How to baseline, and track behavior change to ensure training is taking place using a two-day scientific study based on your own performances
    1. We will determine baseline behavior.
    2. Monitor training sessions and track competencies
    3. Chart behavior output and determine success rates
    4. Analyze results
    • How to functionally analyze new skills and break them into criteria to enhance learning for all students, canine and human.
    • How to effectively perform and teach others to train dogs around key agility equipment.
    •  How to plan, review and revise training sessions.
    • How to restart and revamp your skills, motivation and individual effectiveness.
    • How to effectively integrate two pieces of affordable Agility equipment into your ‘pet manners’ classes increasing fun and learner retention for both human and pet.

    Your Workshop Instructor

    Niki Tudge M.B.A, PCBC-A, CDBC, CDT

    Niki is a certified in dog and people training and has spent the last 18 years teaching dogs and people across many disciplines. Niki is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt which gives her a unique perspective to training and hosting workshops. To ensure each person learns and effectively trains their dog, Niki uses her skills and experience as a Six Sigma Black Belt working in data analysis to baseline, monitor, chart and analyze the training process and its results. Data and statistics are used to baseline, track and improve changes in behavior and processes. When these skills are collectively grouped together it makes for a very fun, scientific and strategic approach to training and behavior change.
    Niki is the President and Founder of The Pet Professional Guild, DogNostics Career Center and The DogSmith, Dog Training and Pet Care Licensing. Niki also serves as the President for Doggone safe.

    The Workshop Location

    This event is sponsored and hosted at the DogSmith Training Center & DogNostics Career Center. The facility is a 2000 square foot fully air conditioned indoor training room on  24 acres with Kings Lake as a backdrop. View pictures here 

    RVs are welcome by appointment, but there is no water or power hookup. The event confirmation email gives local accommodation details and directions to the facility.
