Competition CATEGORIES 

Photos

1.      Best Pet(s) and Handler Team
a)     Photos submitted for this category should be a true demonstration of the bond between a pet (or pets) and their person and should show them interacting happily.
b)     Interactions may be in the guise of, but not limited to, demonstrating a trick, training the pet, or just hanging out on the couch.



2.     Best Group Photo
a)     Photos submitted for this category should be a group photo (not a collage) of a club/group working, playing, canoeing, hiking etc. with their pets.
b)     Each person should be clearly visible, i.e. there should not be 100 people and 100 pets in the picture. Maximum number of group members is 10.
c)     Each pet should be clearly visible.
d)     The photo should not just be a group photo of people standing around with their pets – they need to be doing something of mutual benefit to pet and person.



3.     Best Pet and Child Interaction Photo
a)     Photos submitted for this category should reflect a true demonstration of the bond between a pet and a child with whom the pet lives or with whom the pet spends at least five-six hours a day. The photo should show the child and pet interacting happily.
b)     Interactions may be in the guise of, but not limited to, the child demonstrating a trick, training, or just hanging out on the couch.

Videos
1.     Most Creative Complex Training Video
a)     This category entails the submission of a 60 – 90 second video.
b)     The video should demonstrate a high standard of training and may include (but is not limited to):
Match to sample.
  •  Do as I do.
  •  A shaped behavior (demonstrating the fully shaped complex behavior several times in a row).
  • Scent retrieve.
  •  Complex dance moves.
  • Complex agility.
 
2.     Best Educational
a)     This category entails the submission of a 60 – 90 second video.
b)     The video should demonstrate a high standard of the provision of education and may include (but is not limited to):
  •   A key educational point within a group training class.
  •   A key educational point within the private consultation process.
  •   A key educational point within a public education program.
  •   A key educational point with a child.
  •   A key educational point for you and your pet.
3.     Best Volunteering Video
a)     This category entails the submission of a 60 – 90 second video.
b)     The video should demonstrate a high standard of volunteer service given by the person/team entering the competition. It may include (but is not limited to):
  • Volunteer service at a shelter/rescue.
  •  Volunteer service for a dog training organization.
  •  Volunteer service at a school to educate students about all things animal-related.
  •  Volunteer service educating the public about all things animal-related.
  •  Volunteer service for a wildlife organization.

Best Overall EntryTwo prizes will be awarded, one to the winner from the North America website and one to the winner from the Europe website.

  1.  Best Overall Photo/Video – Grand Prize: The Pet Professional Guild Annual Convention Package (USA: Portland, Oregon – April 26-28, 2019)
  2. or Woof 2019 (UK: Nottingham, England – February 9-12, 2019). 

a)     The overall winner for the Grand Prize will be selected from the winners of each video and photo category from each website.
b)     If the group photo wins, the group must nominate a prize winner from within the group and notify the Pet Professional Guild no more than seven days after the winner has been announced.
