At the upcoming (May 24 and 25, 2025) Pet Professional Guild All About Puppies and Kittens event, the team behind Zigzag will be lifting the lid on how everyday dog guardians like you are making a real difference. I’m thrilled to be speaking at this virtual event, where I’ll be diving into the fascinating world of data-driven dog training.

My session is all about the intersection of science, support, and everyday puppy parenting—and how we can all play a part in shaping the future.

From inconsistent advice and limited time to struggles with routine, we’ll explore what’s really going on in the homes of new puppy parents. And more importantly, how digital tools like Zigzag are transforming the landscape with science-backed, accessible support.

I’ll also be sharing research collaborations (including exciting work with Lincoln University), revealing the world’s first-ever patented separation assessment tool – a clever digital tool that helps guardians identify which type of separation struggles their dog has.

About the Author

Lorna Winter, Trainer and Behaviourist (Dip CABT), is co-founder of the UK’s #1 and USA’s #2 Dog Training app – Zigzag, which was established in early 2022. Recognizing that many dog families don’t (or can’t) undertake official training with their dogs via in person training, and many online options are very misleading and rooted in outdated methods, Lorna was passionate about finding a way to provide great education, in a fun and engaging way, using science-led and positive, fear free methods that could reach people, no matter where they lived, in a format that was easy and familiar for them – in an app!
