Your Webinar Description:

This session explores the critical disconnect between traditional equine sizing methods and the physiological needs of the horse. By analysing research, highlighting the prevalence of ill-fitting wearables and their impact on tissue health and biomechanics. The session introduces a digital methodology for capturing objective anatomical data to ensure a “Perfect Fit.” We will discuss how this data-driven approach improves owner education and provides a framework for researchers and manufacturers to refine wearable design based on actual equine morphology rather than outdated sizing charts.

Learning Objectives:

  •  Analyse the Welfare Disconnect: Examine the clinical implications of the observed/reported rate in current equine wearables, with a focus on muscle atrophy and movement restriction.
  • Understand Objective Mapping: Discuss the transition from subjective manual measurement to objective digital capture and how it reduces human error.
  • The Role of Predictive Sizing: Evaluate how mapping anatomical profiles against manufacturer datasets can improve welfare outcomes.
  • Data-Driven Design Evolution: Explore how aggregated anatomical insights can inform the development of more inclusive and ergonomically sound equine equipment.
