Webinar Description
The term “overstimulation” is sometimes used among cat professionals. But do we all mean the same thing? Like any label, it has the potential to be useful in certain contexts – if we all agree on a definition. Applied too broadly, it limits understanding.
In 2023, I began researching to gain a deeper understanding of how the term “overstimulation” is used among cat professionals. My goal was to explore how the label could be used to promote better understanding of cats’ behavior and needs. In this presentation, I propose a working definition of overstimulation. I discuss strategic interventions to alleviate it, which can lead to better interactions and improved outcomes for people and cats.
