Webinar Description
Resilience is the ability to recover from stressful events and situations. Control Unleashed pattern games provide the perfect framework for teaching our dogs skills to better cope with the world around them. Pattern games offer ways to increase all the components of resilience for dogs: predictability, social support, decompression, completing the stress cycle, safety and security, mental and physical well-being, and agency (Bhambree & Murphy, 2023).
The real magic of pattern games is that they work not only when you are playing the game, but help change your dog’s brain to help them even when they are not playing a game.
This webinar discusses the resilience components in detail and explains which pattern games are best-suited for each component and why. If you would like to learn how to help your dog be less anxious in a variety of situations, how to keep them from constantly being in a state of “fight or flight,” and how to recover more quickly when they do experience a stressful event, this webinar is for you.
If your dog frequently over-reacts to stimuli or is too-often in a state of over-arousal, is shy or anxious or even shut down, Control Unleashed pattern games can provide the tools you and your dog need to get started on the path to a calmer, happier life together.

Jenni Pfafman (CCUI, CSAT, KPA-CTP, CBATI-KSA, UW-AAB, TAG Teach Level 2) became passionate about dog training after hiring and firing a couple of trainers in search of help with her own dog. She focuses on strengthening the human-canine bond, and making training as fun as possible for dogs and their people – which is a big part of what Control Unleashed is all about! Jenni particularly enjoys helping fearful and reactive dogs. She has completed Michael Shikashio’s Aggression in Dogs Master Course and Dr. Susan Friedman’s Living and Learning with Animals. She also spent time with the ASPCA behavioral rehabilitation team working with severely fearful dogs. Jenni is a student in the Virginia Tech MS in Applied Animal Behavior and Welfare Program.
Jenni lives in the Colorado mountains with her husband, Tim, their border collies, Ky and Rocket, and two kitties, Marmalade and Truffle. When not working with dogs and their people, she enjoys split boarding, hiking, mountain biking, and playing with her animals.
