Your Webinar Description:

Many dog guardians and professionals describe dogs as being “difficult,” “stubborn,” or “acting out” when behaviour changes or escalates. In reality, behaviour is communication from the nervous system.

This webinar explores how the canine brain and body respond to stress, overwhelm, pain, trauma, and sensory input — and how these responses are often misunderstood as disobedience. By understanding the roles of the limbic system, brain stem, and emotional processing, trainers and guardians can shift from managing behaviour to supporting emotional regulation.

Attendees will leave with a clear, compassionate, and science-based framework they can apply immediately in their work with dogs and guardians.

Learning Objectives:

  • How the canine nervous system drives behaviour
  • Why stress, pain, trauma, and sensory load often present as “reactivity” or “naughtiness”
  • How to recognise signs of emotional dysregulation in dogs
  • Practical strategies to support regulation through environment, enrichment, and handling
  •  How to explain behaviour to guardians in a way that reduces blame and increases understanding

Tasha shares their life with four dogs — Diesel, Koda, Django, and Zombie — and uses real-life examples to teach guardians how games, enrichment, and collaborative care can replace traditional obedience with connection, understanding, and trust.
They are Co-Chair of the Pet Professional Guild Assistance Animal Division, Behaviour Teams Leader for Lincolnshire, and a Behaviour Teams Supervisor.
Tasha’s passion is simple: helping people build better relationships with their dogs through kindness, knowledge, and a touch of mischief.
