Professionalizing the Pet Training Industry by Encouraging Trainers and Behavior Consultants to Demonstrate Competency

Credential Levels

The Pet Professional Accreditation Board currently offers three credential levels:

  • Canine Training Technician – Accredited (CTT-A)
  • Professional Canine Trainer – Accredited (PCT-A)
  • Professional Canine Behavior Consultant – Accredited (PCBC-A)

Each credential level consists of

  1. An application to confirm candidate eligibility
  2. An online test to assess academic knowledge
  3. Skill video requirements to assess practical skills

The Professional Behavior Consultant credential requires written case studies in addition to the above. The study guide for each level describes the assessment elements in detail. Study guides are available for download on the application pages for the credential levels (linked in the right sidebar.)
