The Scholarly Circle is PPG’s members-only academic paper reading group. It’s a place where PPG members can learn together, support each other, network and have fun!
The group reads academic papers relevant to the animal training and pet care industry and meets once to discuss the selected paper. Papers are selected and meetings are held once per month, as available.
To help ensure that everyone achieves a high level of comprehension and enjoyment, we offer support for participants with learning disabilities or who may need help navigating and progressing through academic material. Participants who would like a reading partner are paired up. And, whenever possible, either the author(s) of the selected paper or an academic mentor will attend the meeting to discuss the work, explain difficult concepts and answer participants’ questions. Participants are encouraged to develop questions for discussion prior to the meeting.
The Scholarly Circle meets via Zoom with Closed Captioning. Events open for registration are listed below. If you are unable to attend live and want to watch the recording, you must register for the live event. Recordings are made available only to those who register for the live events.
