Your Webinar Description:

Dogs recovering from surgery, injury, or medical conditions often struggle with frustration, excess energy, stress, and behavioral fallout during activity restriction or cage rest. Trainers have a meaningful opportunity to partner with veterinarians by offering thoughtful, recovery-appropriate enrichment that supports both behavioral well-being and medical healing.

In this webinar, trainers will learn how to confidently support dogs during post-surgical recovery, injury downtime, and medically required rest using safe, low-risk enrichment strategies that meet behavioral needs without compromising recovery. We will explore real-world case examples, common recovery scenarios, and practical enrichment adaptations appropriate for limited mobility, pain management periods, and restricted activity.

Participants will also learn how to communicate effectively with veterinarians, stay within the ethical scope of practice, and position themselves as collaborative, vet-trusted professionals. By the end of the session, attendees will have clear frameworks, client-ready language, and actionable tools they can use immediately to strengthen outcomes, improve professional credibility, and build stronger veterinary partnerships.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Align canine enrichment recommendations with veterinary recovery plans (post-surgery, injury, cage rest, medical downtime)
  • Recommend safe, recovery-appropriate canine enrichment that supports behavioral needs without compromising healing
  • Apply ethical decision-making and scope-of-practice frameworks when working alongside veterinarians
  • Communicate effectively with veterinary teams using clear, vet-aligned language and collaboration strategies
  • Build practical, recovery enrichment plans that can be confidently implemented with clients
