Chat & Chuckle Format

Where Reasoned, Structured, and a Passionate Exchange of Ideas, Beliefs, or Opinions Happens

Conversations will be polite, productive, and impactful. Discourse doesn’t mean disrespect!

Discourse

Discourse is the reasoned, structured, and often passionate exchange of ideas, beliefs, or opinions. Its purpose is to explore a topic from different angles, understand other perspectives, and, ideally, reach a new or more profound understanding. It operates on a foundation of mutual respect, even when there is strong disagreement.

Key characteristics of discourse:

  • Focus on the topic: The conversation centers on the subject matter, not the people involved.
  • Willingness to listen: Participants actively listen to understand, not just to formulate a rebuttal.
  • Use of evidence: Arguments are supported by facts, logic, and reasoning.
  • Constructive criticism: Feedback is offered to improve an idea or argument.

These sessions are scheduled for the second Thursday of each month at 2:00 p.m. ET. They are arranged as a series on our webinar calendar, and guest information will be added to individual events as we confirm their availability.

You can watch these events on Zoom by registering here or catch them live on Facebook, where we will stream them to our Pet Professional Guild Facebook page.
