Webinar Description

This webinar begins by defining our core Purpose & Intent as pet professionals, setting the stage for a deep dive into the M.T.R. Model (Management, Training, Relationship). Developed by Niki Tudge, this holistic framework illustrates how these three critical pillars intertwine to create ethical, effective behavior modification plans. We will explore the vital intersections: how Relationship + Management create Safety (Trust), how Training + Relationship establish Communication, and how Management + Training lead to Success by reducing frustration.

Too often, behavior plans miss a piece of the puzzle. Professionals may hyper-focus on teaching cues (Training) while overlooking the environment (Management) or the emotional bond (Relationship). When one pillar is weak, the program can collapse. In this session, we will deconstruct the M.T.R. Model to ensure no aspect of a dog’s welfare is left to chance. We will examine how Management acts as a shield against unwanted rehearsal, how Training builds a shared language, and how a secure Relationship fuels the desire to learn.

We will then transition into Quality of Life Assessments, using welfare and well-being as our blueprint for ethical decision-making. Attendees will learn how to gather the critical data required for a successful Behavior Modification program—identifying where this data comes from and how it directly informs the Training Road Map, Training Plan, Lesson Plans, and individual sessions.

Join us to identify the “Sweet Spot”—the intersection where all three components overlap to create a learner who is safe, skilled, and deeply connected. You will leave with a practical blueprint for auditing your cases and applying this powerful Welfare Trifecta.

The Webinar Road Map

Learning Objectives

By the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to:

  1. Define the M.T.R. Triad: Articulate the distinct functions of Management (prevention), Training (skill acquisition), and Relationship (emotional bond), and why all three are required for ethical behavior modification.
  2. Analyze the Intersections: Explain how the specific combinations of these pillars create Trust, Communication, and Success, and identify the “Sweet Spot” where they all overlap.
  3. Apply Welfare Standards: Utilize Quality of Life assessments to ensure behavior plans prioritize both the objective welfare and subjective well-being of the animal.
  4. Structure the Training Flow: Demonstrate how to translate initial data collection into a structured hierarchy: Training Road Map Training Plan Lesson Plan Individual Session.
  5. Diagnose & Audit: Evaluate case studies to determine missing components in a behavior plan and apply the M.T.R. model to reduce client frustration and improve outcomes.
